An overdraft can happen to anyone for any number of reasons. When mistakes happen, we strive to pay overdrafts on the following types of transactions through our Courtesy Overdraft services:
- Automatic bill payments
- Telephone-initiated transfers or other electronic transfers
- Preauthorized automatic debits
- ATM transactions (included for business accounts, consumer accounts must opt in)
- Everyday debit card purchases (included for business accounts, consumer accounts
must opt in)
Kleberg Bank's Courtesy Overdraft service is a discretionary, non-contractual courtesy, where we strive to pay your overdrawn items and charge our standard NSF/OD fee of $30 for each item overdrawn. This policy is a discretionary courtesy and may be withdrawn at any time. Payment of your overdraft item is NOT guaranteed.
Courtesy Overdraft Plus Service — If you inform us, discretionary Courtesy Overdraft service may also be extended to cover the following types of consumer transactions:
- ATM withdrawals and transfers
- Everyday debit card purchases
Courtesy Sweep — You can link your checking or savings accounts. If you overdraw your checking account, we automatically transfer funds from one of your checking or savings accounts. The $3 fee for each transfer is much lower than the overdraft fees.
Free Email or Text Alerts — Free email and text alerts let you know when your balance drops below a set level or if you have an overdraft. Log-in to online banking to set your alert options.

Monitor Your Balance — Track the money you deposit and withdraw from your account using Kleberg Bank's Online Banking on a regular basis. Online banking can be accessed from any desktop computer or try the Kleberg Mobile app on your smartphone or tablet.
