HEALTH BENEFITS – Medical & Dental
Kleberg Bank provides medical and dental benefits to full-time team members at a minimal cost. Team members may choose to cover their dependents for an additional cost. Team members receive a discount on their premium based on the number of years of service, ranging from 10% to 50%.

LIFE INSURANCE (Employee and Covered Dependents)
Kleberg Bank provides a basic life insurance plan for all full-time team members. The coverage for team members is $50,000.00. For team members that have dependent coverage, the life insurance benefit for the spouse is $15,000.00 and $5,000.00 per child. The bank also provides short term and long-term disability insurance to full-time team members.
VOLUNTARY LIFE INSURANCE
This plan offers you and your dependents an excellent opportunity to purchase affordable term life insurance on a payroll deduction basis. Team members may choose from $10,000 to $50,000 in increments of $10,000.
SHORT TERM DISABILITY
There is a 30-day waiting period before a team member may use short-term disability benefits due to a sickness. There is no waiting period for disability due to an accident. PTO Days must be used prior to short-term disability. If a team member is absent for 30 consecutive days due to an extended illness or maternity leave, the team member may be eligible to receive 60 % of their regular pay up to $1,000.00 maximum per week. There is 13-week benefit duration.
LONG TERM DISABLITY
After short-term disability is exhausted, team members may benefit from long-term disability coverage. The team member may be eligible to receive 60% of their regular pay up to $6,000.00 maximum per month.
COBRA (Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act)
COBRA offers team members and their qualified beneficiaries the opportunity to continue health insurance coverage under Kleberg Bank’s health plan when a “qualifying event” would normally result in the loss of eligibility. The team member or beneficiary pays the full cost of the coverage at Kleberg Bank’s group rates, plus an administration fee.
401(k) RETIREMENT SAVINGS PLAN
Kleberg Bank offers and encourages all team members to participate in the 401(k) Plan. The team member decides the amount of pre-taxed compensation that is matched dollar for dollar up to 6% by the bank. By using this benefit, team members can save for the future and become better prepared for their financial security. UBS Financial Services, Inc. manages the plan's funds.
PTO DAYS (Personal Time Off)
Full-time team members earn PTO days the first of the month following 90 days of employment. Sick days and vacations days are considered PTO days. Exemption classification and length of service will determine your monthly PTO accrual.
BEREAVEMENT LEAVE
A death in your family can be difficult to deal with. You may need time off to take care of your own grief as well as details of handling the estate. Bereavement Days are not counted as PTO days. Team members classified as full time or regular part-time can take time off with pay. Team members will be paid for up to three bereavement days for the loss of an immediate family member.
FLEXIBLE SPENDING ACCOUNTS (Cafeteria Plan)
The Kleberg Bank Dependent Care Account and Health Care Account allows employees the opportunity to set aside money to pay for certain eligible dependent care and health care-related expenses not covered by insurance. Contributions are taken out of the team member’s pay before income taxes are withheld. Therefore, you are paying these expenses with tax-free dollars.
TUITION REIMBURSEMENT PROGRAM (Educational Assistance)
Kleberg Bank will provide educations assistance to all eligible team members who have completed 90 calendar days of service in an eligible employment classification. Individual courses that are part of a degree, licensing, or certification program must be related to the team member’s current job duties or a foreseeable-future position at Kleberg Bank in order to be eligible for educational assistance.
WORKERS’COMPENSATION
Kleberg Bank provides a comprehensive worker’s compensation insurance program at no cost to team members. This program covers any injury or illness sustained in the course of employment that requires medical, surgical, or hospital treatment. Team members who sustain work-related injuries or illnesses should inform their supervisor immediately.
BANK SHIRTS
Kleberg Bank provides all new team members with one free bank shirt of their choice. After one year of service, the team member will receive another free shirt of their choice. Additional shirts may be purchased by team members at a reduced cost (through membership in the Team Kleberg account).
CASUAL BUSINESS ATTIRE
Kleberg Bank’s primary objective is to have team members project a professional image while taking advantage of more casual and relaxed business fashions. All Fridays have been designated as casual business attire days where team members can wear their Kleberg Bank shirt.
YEARS OF SERVICE AWARD
Kleberg Bank team members will receive one free bank shirt after one year of service. After five years of service team members receive ten dollars for every year of service in five-year intervals.
LOW INTEREST / EASY TERMS / COMPUTER LOAN
Kleberg Bank offers personal loans for team members only for up to $2,500.00 for the specific purpose of purchasing or upgrading their computers. All approvals are subject to our standard approval criteria.
EMPLOYEE REFERRAL PROGRAM
Team members who recruit new team members can receive additional compensation when their recruits are interviewed, and hired.
TEAM MEMBER ACCOUNTS
The Bank will provide up to two deposit accounts to each team member without a service charge. The team member checking accounts are a privilege, and team members are responsible for managing their accounts in a satisfactory manner.
DIRECT DEPOSIT OF PAY
Team member payroll funds will be automatically deposited to the team member’s account of their choice. You may elect for the payroll account to be an interest bearing account.
ONLINE BANKING & BILL PAY
Online Banking and Bill Pay is a terrific and convenient way to receive information on all your accounts and to pay bills. Team members can transfer money from one account to another, view account balances, request stop payments, re-order checks, along with many other features using Online Banking. Online Banking and Bill Pay is available at no cost to the team member.
JURY DUTY LEAVE
The team member is excused from work while serving on jury; duty-however, the team member is expected to be at work when their presence is not required in court. You may keep any court reimbursement for your services, in addition to your Kleberg Bank pay. Team members must show the jury duty summons to their supervisor as soon as possible so that the manager may make arrangements to accommodate their absence.
FAMILY MEDICAL LEAVE
Kleberg Bank provides family leave of absence without pay to eligible team members who wish to take time off from work duties to fulfill family obligations relating directly to childbirth, adoption, placement of a foster child, or to care for a child, spouse, or parent with a serious health condition. PERSONAL LEAVE
Kleberg Bank provides leaves of absence without pay to eligible team members who wish to take time off from work duties to fulfill personal obligations.
MILITARY LEAVE
A military leave of absence will be granted to team members who are absent from work because of service in the U.S. uniformed services in accordance with the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA).
PARKING
Free designated parking is provided to all team members at a location near the bank building.
